John Yodzis

John Yodzis

President and CEO

John Yodzis

John joined DOW Technologies in 2008 after graduating with a master’s degree from the University of Florida. Beginning his career at DOW in outside sales, John has held various positions at the company in sales, marketing, purchasing, and business development management.

In 2013, with the hard work and support of his management team, John successfully led the transition of DOW from a single sales channel satellite television distributor to an industry leading distributor of custom integration, 12Volt, and satellite television products. The transition involved the acquisition of Shifting Sands Stereo Distributing to immediately bolster the CI pillar and a strategic, ground up effort to build out the 12Volt pillar.

Continuing DOW’s expansion and diversification, John and his team successfully completed four more strategic acquisitions. In 2015, DOW acquired Eagle Distributors, giving the company a firm distribution footprint in the western portion of its territory and providing a conduit to enter the growing Texas marketplace. In 2016, DOW acquired DB South to further cement its position in the 12Volt industry. DOW expanded into the Metro New York and Mid-Atlantic markets in 2019 with the acquisition of Bach Distribution. In December 2020, DOW acquired Audio Video Warehouse, expanding its distribution territory into the Southwest. DOW further strengthened their position in the Mid-Atlantic market with the acquisition of Tech Source Distributors in March 2022.

John is inspired and driven by changes in technology and the opportunities those changes provide a company. John views DOW’s employees and customers as family, and he appreciates the fact that every day, DOW Technologies has the opportunity to better the lives of its employees and customers.

On a personal note, Steve enjoys golfing, boating, fishing, and college football. As a college football fan, he closely follows his alma mater, the University of Florida Gators, and the rest of the SEC. When he’s not fishing off his boat or playing a round of golf, Steve enjoys grilling and winding down with a nice glass of wine.

Dave Elkin

Dave Elkin

SVP Sales and Product Management

Dave Elkin

Dave joined DOW in 1995 as an inside sales person and throughout his career, he has continued to grow his skill set and responsibility with the company. Along the way, Dave’s been a part of several SBCA development groups and assisted in the original launch of the National Standards and Testing Program for Satellite Installers.

As part of DOW’s executive team, Dave has assisted in developing the roadmap for DOW’s expansion into new sales pillars that were synergistic and complimentary to DOW’s core strengths as a distribution company. He is very dedicated to DOW’s core mission and customers, while possessing a clear vision of DOW’s future.

Dave is a self-defined ‘gadget guy’ and loves to get hands-on with the latest products and technologies. Whether it’s Satellite, Smart Home, Custom Integration, Consumer Electronics or 12Volt Automotive & Marine products, he stays up-to-date and hands-on with all of them.

On the weekends, Tim can often be found floating on water, be it on a boat, his kayak or in his pool. While on the water, Tim is often fishing, though not likely in his pool. And when you can get him away from the water, he enjoys cooking, grilling, and also traveling.

Somsri Poindexter

Somsri Poindexter

Director of Purchasing - 12Volt/Satellite/Broadband

Somsri Poindexter

Somsri has been with DOW Technologies since May of 1994, and usually we’d list some of the positions she’s had*, but I think the better question in this bio is…what positions hasn’t she had? Somsri’s contributions have resulted in her growing roles at DOW, working in nearly every department at one point. One of her major contributions was improving the cost and efficiency of the 12 Volt and Satellite lines of the business. In all these years at DOW, one thing she can say is that there’s never a dull moment, “It’s not your typical office environment because everyone here is relaxed and friendly, and we’re always having fun.”

In her spare time, Somsri loves watching the The Food Network Channel and then going to the different eateries featured on the shows.
